I collect found wonder in the everyday. ~Christine Blair, MFA

Website UNDER CONSTRUCTION, July 31, 2023 through to be determined date. I am building a new website with a new updated template.*

Update, Spring 2023 through the present:

I am Christine Blair, a working artist with 34 years of professional experience. In December 2021 I launched my website, which is still under development, to display my artwork and share its story and inspiration.

Beginning about 23 years ago I experienced some extended challenging times that were derailing to me both as a person and as an artist. More information in my bio. This chapter in my life coincided with the exact time of the switch from traditional photography of slides to digital photography to document artwork. I never mastered digital photography and I never launched my own artist website when everyone else did. I am working on both now!

Also, currently I am no longer relying on the social media platforms of Instagram and Facebook. I am taking a break from these outside platforms to concentrate on enriching my own website, making it a standalone platform.

My ongoing number one commitment as an artist is my art studio work: this must be above my social media presence as an artist and all that that commitment entails.

During the lockdown of the pandemic in April 2020, I initiated a "drawing and posting challenge" for myself on Instagram. This challenge involved creating "Meditation Drawings" inspired by the urban nature oasis of my container garden in my South Philly yard. While it helped reduce anxiety during those challenging times, it also led to a constant cycle of content creation for social media up until recently in late spring.

Recognizing the toll it has taken on my artistic process, I have decided to step back and regain my artistic freedom. I am now determined to pour my creative efforts into my more experimental works on paper and printmaking artwork along with my website.

But, I AM still continuing my drawing and painting from observation practice because I love it! I probably will not be sharing a whole lot of it going forward.

To connect with my dedicated supporters outside of social media, I will continue to nurture my Art Studio VIP List. I acknowledge that building the website is a learning journey, but I am committed to mastering it on my own terms. I'll be updating my VIPs on the website's progress and sharing exclusive releases with them that will not be available to the general public.

My journey as an artist in the 21st Century might be slow, but I take every step with passion and dedication, embracing the opportunity to share my art with the world. Thank you for joining me!**
